DNS translates a domain name “example.com” to an ip address pointing to the server. It tells your browser how to reach the server. It is unlikely the reason.
the common way to detect your location is by checking your ip address. Usually there is a database (i.e. maxmind) that keeps a record of which ip address subnet belongs to which location.
you can do a check with a reverse ip geolocation lookup tool to verify this.

i am using Reolink E1 Pro, set it up on my iot LAN (no internet), and connect it to home assistant.
“opensource compatible” - sort of, with onvif and rtmp*rtsp.
i suppose any camera with these two should work.

Without needing to re-invent the wheel with thousands of lines of JavaScript or write Web Assembly (i am not even sure how to build an accessible input element with canvas that work with screen reader, keybroad focus etc, this is crazy)?
